Ship Registration

Being an open registry, any local, foreign, natural or legal person is entitled to apply to register any type of vessel as long as it meets the standards imposed by the Registry. The Registry permits the registration of new building vessels as well as vessels already in operation wishing to apply for a transfer under the ZAMBIA MARITIME ADMINISTRATION flag.

Yacht Registration

Yachts for private or commercial use may be registered under the São Tomé and Príncipe flag in accordance with the ZAMBIA MARITIME ADMINISTRATION Yacht Code.

ZAMBIA MARITIME ADMINISTRATION has developed a wide network of flag inspectors to carry out flag state inspections and to assist owners/ managers in the unforeseen event of a Port State Control detention.

Crew Certification Services
Crew Certification Services

ZAMBIA MARITIME ADMINISTRATION does not impose any restriction on the nationality of officers and crew serving on board São Tomé and Príncipe registered vessels. All crew on board a São Tomé and Príncipe vessel shall hold an appropriate Certificate of Competency issued under the STCW Convention.
